Learning at Schechter
From scribbles to ideas. From Aleph to algebra. From singing to selfhood.
As students grow, so does the complexity of their thinking: they take on deeper challenges, discover passions, and develop the confidence to express what they believe and who they are. Our integrated, values-driven approach ensures that learning is never just about what they know—it’s about how they think, what they care about, and the kind of person they’re becoming.
At Schechter, learning is a journey of becoming.
We begin by honoring each child’s natural curiosity—inviting questions, nurturing play, and building core skills through connection and joy
Early childhood
Toddler–Grade 1
Tiny hands. Big discoveries.
NEED TO TALK ABOUT ECE CENTER AND UPCOMING UPGRADES IN COPY BELOW,
At Schechter, early education is the start of something joyful. In our Toddler, Preschool, Pre-K, Kindergarten, and First Grade classrooms, learning begins with play, wonder, and strong relationships. Our teachers draw on each child’s natural curiosity to build core skills in literacy, math, and communication—while nurturing independence, empathy, and confidence along the way. Through songs, stories, and celebrations, children explore Hebrew, Jewish traditions, and the rhythms of the calendar in a warm, inclusive environment. These early years are all about discovery—of ideas, routines, friendships, and self.

ADD COPY ABOUT THE ELEMENTARY CAMPUS
As students move through second to fifth grade, learning deepens and confidence takes root. They grow from learning to read to reading to learn—writing across genres, collaborating on projects, and engaging with ideas that challenge and excite them. Guided by caring teachers, students begin to reflect on their strengths, express their opinions, and pursue personal interests with growing independence. Academics stretch to include new forms of expression and critical thinking, while Jewish learning continues to shape their values and voice. It’s a time of purpose, perspective, and growing pride in who they’re becoming.

Ready for high school. Rooted for life.
ADD COPY ABOUT THE MIDDLE SCHOOL CAMPUS
Middle school at Schechter is where everything comes together. Students take on rigorous academics across seven subjects while developing the executive function and communication skills to manage it all. They explore complex math, rich literature, classical Jewish texts, and more—always with the support of teachers who know them well. Outside the classroom, electives, sports, and leadership opportunities help them explore their passions. As they begin to ask big questions about identity, purpose, and belonging, we create space for reflection and real relationships. This is where they grow not just as learners—but as thoughtful, grounded teens ready for what’s next.

Arts
Toddler–Grade 8
Paint. Perform. Produce. Repeat.
At Schechter, the arts are everywhere—and they’re anything but extra. Students paint in three dedicated art studios, sing and compose in two music rooms, and build entire worlds on stage through theater, improv, and playwriting. Starting in Grade 1, every child has access to specialist-led instruction in visual art, music, and drama. They design Hebrew calligraphy, build props for holiday celebrations, and turn Torah projects into creative expression. Middle schoolers explore stage tech and filmmaking—writing scripts, directing scenes, and editing their own short films. Whether it’s a sculpture, a Purim parody, or a beat on the drums, students don’t just create—they take the lead. And yes, there’s glitter. Always.
Athletics
Toddler–Grade 8
97,000 square feet of space to run, play, and grow.
From full-size turf fields to dedicated play spaces and a regulation gym, Schechter’s campuses are built for movement. Our youngest students start with weekly classes that build balance and coordination in joyful, age-appropriate ways. Starting in Grade 1, PE becomes a twice-weekly opportunity to learn game skills, practice teamwork, and grow through friendly competition—with favorites like gaga, kickball, and capture the flag. By middle school, students can join Panther teams in six sports, cheered on by classmates, teachers, and proud families. Whether it’s daily recess or the beloved 8th Grade vs. Faculty basketball game, athletics at Schechter are about effort, confidence, and showing up for each other.
