12 months to Pre-Kindergarten
Gan – Early Childhood
The warmest start.
At the Gan, children play, sing, explore, make friends, and grow up known. Through songs, stories, celebrations, and everyday routines, children build a familiar connection to Hebrew and Jewish life.
Kindergarten to Grade 2
Lower Elementary
Foundational years.
Children become confident readers, writers, mathematicians, and problem-solvers. As they grow, Hebrew, Jewish traditions, and classroom routines become familiar parts of everyday life, giving students the confidence to ask questions, take risks, and discover the joy of learning.
Grade 3 to Grade 5
Upper Elementary
A time to find their voice.
Students deepen their skills across subjects, make connections between ideas and learn to think critically. They contribute more actively in the classroom, engage more deeply with Jewish learning and traditions and begin to see themselves as leaders in classrooms, on teams and inside their community.
Middle School
Grade 6 to Grade 8
Ready for what’s next.
Students engage with complex ideas, take on leadership roles, and learn to advocate for themselves and others. By the time they leave Schechter, they are prepared for high school, grounded in their values and confident in who they are.
Jewish Life, Lived Everyday.
Jewish life at Schechter isn't separate from the school day. It's part of how students learn, gather, celebrate, question, and connect with one another.
Students engage with Jewish texts, ideas, and practices, and grow up alongside classmates whose families experience Jewish life in many different ways. For some students, Schechter builds on what begins at home. For others, it opens new doors.
By the time they finish Grade 8, students can read Hebrew, understand Jewish holidays and their significance and feel at home in a wide range of Jewish spaces and experiences.
